Sisters and Brothers,
While you continue to keep the lights on in the state of Florida, this pandemic continues to spread and attack those closest to us. The hot weather has not brought the end to this horrible virus that we had hoped for, and frankly, there doesn't seem to be an end in sight. As our Union brethren become a growing statistic, 27 positive cases in Florida as of last week, getting answers or direction from management seems to be difficult or inconsistent. This is what I know today...
- Contractually we have at least 80 hours and as much as 120 hours of sicktime as of January 1, 2020.
- If management sends you home to quarantine, you will be placed on Administrative Leave
- If you test positive, you will be moved to sicktime and charged accordingly.
- Once you test positive, you are encouraged to initiate Short Term Disability and will have the option of using your 40 hour bridge, if applicable.
This situation is fluid and changing daily; please control what you can. Wear a mask in public. Social distance. Take care of your family and loved ones.
Fraternally yours,
Phil
