Setting the Record Straight

Sisters and Brothers,

Regardless of what you've heard or think you've heard, there have been ZERO discussions with Management regarding a $3 bump in pay for the Bargaining Unit employees in Florida. Management has NOT requested the Florida Union's participation and been rejected. In fact, every time SCU8 has tried to engage Duke Energy Management about attraction and retention in Florida, it has been met with word salad and we've been reminded this is a contract year.

The truth is this. Duke Energy gave a $3.00 premium to certain classifications in North Carolina, both union and non-union. End of story. No one in Indiana. No one in Ohio. No one in Florida.

We will be at the table in September and appropriate discussions will be had at that time. Until then, this is simply a poke in your eye during a contract year.

Please...keep your mind on the job and continue working safely.
