Attached is a synopsis of the tentative agreement that SCU8 and Duke Energy reached yesterday afternoon, after 2 months of collective bargaining. Please take the time to read through the package and develop your list of questions. The System Committee will begin conducting a series of TEAMS meetings on Monday morning, continuing through Thursday the 17th. We will also be attending your Local Union meetings where we will be glad to answer any questions that you may have regarding these proposals or negotiations in general. The contract ratification vote is scheduled to be conducted via this website on Friday, November, 18, 2022 from 0700 to 1700. You must be a member to vote and no new members will be approved on the website after Thursday, November 17th, until the vote has been completed. The System Committee is recommending a ratification of the agreement with the knowledge that some will be less than happy, and most will have questions. Management brought some very difficult proposals that the Committee struggled to even counter. Through compromise and determination, we were able to negotiate them to a more reasonable and acceptable state. This committee worked extremely hard to get the best deal possible. We truly believe this is it.
